He continues to give me strength and perseverance through years of chronic pain from a broken back. 

The Lord rescued our teen daughter from the miry pit of depression and anxiety and set her as a light on the hill, radiating his love and power over darkness. He has captured each tear and is healing wounds from rejection and unimaginable broken relationships. And most recently, Jesus endured the hardships with us as our young son fought his second battle with cancer.

 

Through all our suffering, God has proven himself faithful and good. In reading my story, my hope is that you will be reminded of the goodness and faithfulness of God in your own story of suffering and trials. Our best choice in the midst of suffering and sorrow is to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and surrender our troubles into his mighty and able hands. I help people do that when they feel unable on their own.

 

One of the greatest lessons God taught me through my son’s cancer battle is that he is sovereign. I had heard this over and over, read it many times in the Bible, and even taught it. But all the unknowns, heartbreaks, and waiting in childhood cancer really made it hit home. Being able to grasp the sovereignty of God, that he knows all and controls all, gives me a tangible peace I can rest in. 

 

One of my biggest struggles used to be trying to understand why God allowed certain hard situations to happen. I wanted to know why so that I could better understand and try to control the situation. But a solid lesson he taught me is that I don’t need to understand him to trust him.

 

He has put a fire in my heart to be transparent about suffering and to come alongside others to strengthen them in their weariness and help turn their eyes back to Jesus. During our son’s cancer battle, God led me to create Eternal Hope Ministries where we inspire hope and transform lives through the love and truth of Jesus. Jesus is our unchangeable source of hope, joy, peace, and strength. We must stay focused on him and not the things of this world. 

 

Through my suffering and redemption from sin, I have experienced the power and presence of God again and again. My passion is to share that with as many people as I can and to spread the word that Jesus is the answer for all our hurts, hang-ups, and hopelessness. Jesus is the answer we have all been searching for!

 

Although God has equipped and called me to share his truth through speaking and writing, my primary ministry is my family. I am married to the most incredible man and am mother to the two best teenagers in the world. (I may be biased but you probably are too about your family :) ). We live on a small family farm and enjoy our time together being silly, playing games, and camping. We draw closer to the Lord and together through homeschooling and serving in ministry. 

 

I’m an extroverted introvert which means I love being around people but need time alone to recharge my battery. Nature is my sanctuary, where I feel closest to the Lord. You can find me on a trail, in the lake, or riding countless miles on my bike. If I’m not outdoors, I’m likely cuddled up reading a book or doing something crafty or in the kitchen. And I’ll end with a little secret about me: I struggle with small talk because I like to get deep and transparent to discuss real life issues and seek Jesus for breakthrough in them.
